I had a mixed experience at The Dulwich during my stay. The location is fantastic, right near the city centre and close to all amenities, which I really appreciated. However, the service left something to be desired, particularly my first interaction with the manager, which felt quite off-putting. Overall, while it had its charm, my stay had its ups and downs.

Rooms
Service
5.0
The service was a bit uninviting. The manager's initial greeting was more about checking early rather than welcoming me, which set a negative tone. I also observed some discomfort in the way staff were spoken to.
Location
8.0
The location was definitely a highlight for me. It was near the city centre, making it easy to explore all the local attractions and not far from the train station, which was convenient.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
While the facilities offered some basics like a kettle and mini fridge, I found the overall condition a bit lacking. The unfinished sockets and cleanliness made it feel less well-managed.

I had high hopes for my stay at The Dulwich in Cheltenham due to its central location, but it was pretty disappointing overall. The dusty conditions and renovation work made the place feel more like a construction site than a hotel. While the location was definitely a plus, the state of the rooms and service left much to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
The so-called 'Deluxe King Suite' felt more like two dusty, poorly maintained rooms. One had an unmissable hole in the ceiling revealing the attic above, which was a bit creepy at night. Honestly, the bathroom situation was weird too, being across the floor instead of connected.
Service
5.0
I did receive some help from the staff, but the problems I faced with the room and noise from above couldn't really be ignored. The managers didn't seem too keen on addressing my concerns, which was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The location was definitely a bright spot, being close to the city center and handy for parking. It made it easy to get around and check out Cheltenham, which was a relief.
Dining
5.0
I didn't get to experience dining at the hotel, but I imagined there might be some decent options nearby, given the location. A good steak would be nice after a long day exploring.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities could definitely use some improvement. While some basics like a mini fridge were available, the overall maintenance of the property really dragged the experience down. The entry system worked fine, but I wouldn't say I felt secure.

I had quite a mixed experience at The Dulwich in Cheltenham. While the central location was fantastic, the overall state of the guesthouse was disappointing. The property is undergoing renovation, which made for an uninviting stay. I can’t say I enjoyed much beyond its proximity to the city centre.

Rooms
5.0
I booked a "Deluxe King Suite" that turned out to be two dusty rooms with a huge hole in the ceiling of one. The bathroom was also not attached, making it inconvenient.
Service
5.0
I didn't see any staff during my stay; check-in was done via a code, and it felt a bit impersonal, lacking the warmth I expected from a guesthouse.
Location
9.0
The location was excellent, just a three-minute walk to the centre of Cheltenham, which made exploring the area very easy.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
The accommodation was quirky but very tired overall; the lack of a wall-mounted TV and some out-of-date items were definitely drawbacks.

My stay at The Dulwich in Cheltenham was quite disappointing. While the location was fantastic for accessing the city center and nearby amenities, the condition of the hotel left much to be desired, with outdated rooms and cleanliness issues that were hard to ignore.

Rooms
5.0
The Standard Double or Twin Room was outdated with scruffy carpets and dirty sheets; I even found false eyelashes on the carpet!
Service
5.0
Communication was poor, and I felt like a nuisance when seeking assistance about leaving my luggage after checking out.
Location
8.0
The central location was the highlight, making it easy to explore Cheltenham and close to the train station.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were disappointing, especially since the bathroom was not directly connected to the room, which I found quite strange.

I had a wonderful one-night stay at The Dulwich, which is recently refurbished and offers a great location with plenty of parking. While my King Room was comfortable, the soundproofing was a bit lacking, and I was disturbed by noise from outside late into the night. Despite this, the positives outweighed the negatives, making it a good option overall.

Rooms
7.0
The King Room was spacious and comfortable, though the furniture could use some TLC, and soundproofing was an issue due to the old building.
Service
9.0
The staff was exceptionally supportive; they allowed me to check in early, which was a huge relief for my schedule.
Location
8.0
The property is in a fantastic location, close to the city center and all amenities, with easy access to parking.
Dining
7.0
I didn't dine at the hotel, but the location offers plenty of dining options nearby.
Facilities
8.0
The room included a little fridge and a TV with Netflix, which enhanced my stay.
